Pier rentals start at $800 per month (for a 40″ radius) with a one year lease.
You get:
Bortle 3/1 sky (our best reading yet was 22.04 mpass which is well into the class 1 range).
There’s no guarantee on weather but since January 1 I’ve imaged about 74% of the nights so I find I get more data and better data. The last couple months have been in the mid-80% of the nights.
A solid concrete foundation for your equipment so wind, building vibration and other telescopes won’t interfere with your imaging
We can manufacture a custom steel pier for you if needed. Our top plates fit Paramount mounts.Piers are $400 plus $150 per foot of height.
High speed fiber optic internet with a 10-gigabit fiber backbone and an Ethernet cable to your pier for fast, reliable communication
Reliable power plus an automatic backup generator (although we do suggest a small backup battery UPS)
On-site 24/7 support; up to two hours per month of basic support is included
There are a couple options for installation. We can also do a basic installation for a flat rate of $1000 assuming the system has been fully tested before it arrives on site. And, of course, you can come do the installation yourself, we charge $150 per day to assist you. If you have an RV we have a small RV pad where you can stay while you’re installing your equipment. There is also a small motel about 15 minutes away.
We’d be happy to reserve a spot for you by paying the first two months rent. We can set up a phone call or Zoom session to discuss more of the details about how remote imaging can work for you.
If you haven’t already seen them I suggest viewing these YouTube videos about remote imaging and Utah Desert Remote Observatories.
