What’s hiding at the center of our Milky Way Galaxy – the Sagittarius A* supermassive black hole, but we can’t see it. First of all, it’s a black hole so there’s not much to see. Secondly it hidden behind a dense cloud of dust, gas and stars.
This image was taken pointing right at Sagittarius A*. Strip away the stars and you get a clear view of the dust and ionized gas, mostly hydrogen.
